We began by removing an aging wooden deck and replacing it with a new, low-maintenance composite deck. This modern material offers long-lasting durability, resists fading, and requires no staining or sealing—perfect for homeowners who want to enjoy their space, not maintain it. The rich color and clean lines of the composite decking complemented the home’s exterior beautifully.
Wide staircases on each side of the deck create natural transitions to the yard, making the space feel open and inviting. A custom pergola was added to provide partial shade and architectural interest, while still letting in plenty of natural light.
In the yard below, we installed a circular paver fire pit area surrounded by hardscaping. It's an ideal spot for cool evenings, weekend gatherings, or quiet nights under the stars. The paver design offers excellent drainage and long-term durability, even in Indiana's changing weather.
To complete the space, we refreshed the landscaping with new mulch beds, sod, and carefully chosen plants to frame the deck and fire pit. These finishing touches bring cohesion to the whole area and give it a polished, natural feel.
